Hypotheses is an international platform for science blogs founded in 2009. All academics in the Humanities and Social Sciences community, (researchers, research teams, doctoral students, engineers, library science and documentation professionals, institutions, etc.) can create a blog on the site. Content published on Hypotheses is free and open to the public.

Hypotheses is part of the OpenEdition Center, a French public research body also responsible for OpenEdition Journals, OpenEdition Books, and Calenda.
The OpenEdition Center is funded by Aix-Marseille University, the CNRS (National Centre for Scientific Research), the EHESS (School of Advanced Studies in the Social Sciences), and Avignon University and is part of the Committee for Open Science (COSO) and the National Plan for Open Science. OpenEdition has received the Équipement d’excellence hallmark from the French Ministry of Higher Education, Research, and Innovation.
Within OpenEdition it is the Research Blogging Service who runs Hypotheses, its staff working closely every day with the rest of the OpenEdition team and the international partners who operate the Spanish and German versions of Hypotheses.
